Camp Boggy Creek
Through our partnership with Campy Boggy Creek, funding from Janus Henderson has enabled them to help children living with serious illness, develop friendships, life skills and strong social support systems through their therapeutic camp program. This program ensures children with serious illness gain or regain skills and understanding of their own abilities so they are able to make informed decisions in other aspects of their lives outside of the camp.
Denver Public Schools Foundation
The Foundation has funded innovative, ground-breaking work at Denver Public Schools Foundation that allows us to act locally, but influence education nationally. Specifically, the Foundation awarded a $3 million, three-year grant to Denver Public Schools in 2008 and another $2.1 million, three-year grant to the district in 2012. Denver Public Schools has invested this money in the development of programmes designed to increase teacher effectiveness, improve student outcomes and create unique learning environments for students that utilize today's most innovative technologies. We have also partnered with them to create Growth Through Connections, a programme focused on student-teacher relationships. We are proud to build on this long history of supporting critical education initiatives by investing in the futures of our most valuable resource - our youth.
Global Social Venture Competition
Since 2017, we have partnered with Berkeley-Haas and their Institute for Business and Social Impact to sponsor the Global Social Venture Competition (GSVC). GSVC is the world’s preeminent social venture competition providing aspiring entrepreneurs with mentoring, exposure, and prize money to transform their business ideas into positive real-world impact. GSVC leads entrant teams through an experiential learning process to develop innovative, scalable solutions to the world’s greatest challenges. Through a global network of 12 partner schools and competitions, teams receive support, connections and exposure needed to advance their social ventures.
Operation Underground Railroad
In 2017, the Foundation donated $45,000 to Operation Underground Railroad. This funding is allowing the organization to pave the way for the permanent eradication child sex trafficking through coordinated rescues and recovery planning. Since inception in 2013, they have rescued over 1,000 victims and arrested more than 443 traffickers around the world.
Habitat for Humanity
Last April, the Janus Henderson Foundation awarded a grant to help Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver migrate into the digital age. The Foundation provided $45,000 that was put toward an on-site computer lab. The lab has provided online access and personal assistance for people in all stages of the housing application process. Habitat for Humanity partners with people in your community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.

Innovations for Learning
We are proud to support of Innovation for Learning’s TutorMate Programme, which enables volunteers to remotely tutor at-risk first graders in core reading skills on a weekly basis. This online tutoring system has been successfully implemented in close to 600 classrooms in over 25 major school districts across the US during the 2017-18 school year. Further, the programme is expanding internationally, into the UK during 2018 due to strategic support from the Janus Henderson Foundation.
As Dan Weisberg, National Director of the TutorMate Programme, explains, "We also have almost 6000 registered tutors representing 200 tutoring corporations, law firms, accounting firms, and various community organizations who are currently tutoring with TutorMate. Janus Henderson has been one of our most supportive and consistent corporate tutoring partners for many years.”
Young Americans Center for Financial Education
Our Foundation has been a valued partner of Young Americans Center for Financial Education since 2001. Through our partnership, we have contributed more than $400,000 to youth financial literacy programmes. Over the last few years, the Foundation has partnered with Young Americans Center for Financial Education with a multi-year commitment of $25,000 each year. Our grant allows us to be the exclusive sponsor of the AmeriTowne Centers located in Denver and Lakewood, Colorado. This sponsorship allows us to support the 25,000 children and 5,000 parents and teachers that participate in the AmeriTowne curriculum each year. This curriculum builds:
- Financial Self-Sufficiency
